Has anyone on here done a correspondence course before?
For the most part I enjoy my job and it pays the bills, but it really doesn't challenge me.
I don't really see myself not working and studying full time, or changing my career path completely.
Today I sgned up for a course with Stotts, but now I am a bit worried that they might have a bad rep. or something..
They are NZQA approved, but the course has 'has no National Qualifications Framework' which means you can't use credits against any courses you may do in the future. (Though I did read something about being able to apply when doing courses to see if they will recognise what you have done) anyway, as I don't really plan to study full time or anything in the future, this doesn't worry me too much.
This course is way cheaper than others that I looked at. And it sounds interesting to me.

I just worry that I'll be dissapointed.. I always rush in to things... it's probably one of my worst points.
Basically I am just wanting to do it as a hobby/so I don't feel like my brain is melting away..
Any thoughts? I think i can back out, but will probably lose a small deposit.

10:37 pm - Day 08 → Someone who made your life hell, or treated you like shit.
Wow, nothing really comes to mind! Nothing that is not so far in the past it's worth forgetting and can just be put down to the person and myself being really young, anyway!
Doing this is an extra reminded of how awesome the people in my life are.

10:10 pm - Day 07 → Someone who has made your life worth living for.
No ONE person.. a combination of all the amazing people in my life do.
I am so lucky to have great family and friends. Every so often on a really good night, having a laugh, you stop for a second and get a 'this is what it's all about!!' feeling. And that is the best feeling in the world.

7:57 pm - Day 05 → Something you hope to do in your life.
This is a hard one.
A couple of years ago this would have been easy, travel, buy a house, get married(although never really essential) have kids (GET A DOG haha).. etc. etc.
Now I have travelled a bit and have no real want to do more(any time soon, anyway.. but the idea of a road trip in the US is quite appealing... maybe.)
And everything else.. I just don't feel enthusiastic about anymore. I think I have been/am just in a bit of a rut. Nothing really impresses me right now, which is really very sad.
I used to really want kids and feel that my life wouldn't be complete if I didn't at some point.(I understand some people never have or will feel like that, but imagine it about something else, Eg. buy a house/travel the world etc.)
But right now I am SO not in the state to have children or think about them.. although I could take care of them, the love that I have for myself and many things around me is dwindling, no time/place to bring a life in to.
I guess I hope that I am really truly happy again and feel in the right frame of mind to have kids.. I hope that I hope for it again, because it was something that was always important to me.

Wow, depressing, maybe I picked the wrong time to begin this meme thing haha..

9:18 pm

I havnt updated in quite a while! Have not been up to a whole lot, but still really enjoying things. Had a few great weekends recently. We are off to download festival in a couple of weeks time, i cant wait, festival should be great and i also have
friday and monday off work.. mmm back to back 4 day working weeks :D

I realised that we will be headin back to NZ in about 4 months.. its scary as hell.. feels like walls closing in on me. I am excited to see everyone though, dont get me wrong, but yeah, it will be insane.. i think ive settled here really well. I think
it may have been easier for me because ive always had a time limit.. if it had been for an unlimted amount of time i may have got home sick but i didnt, so i havnt and being forced to leave feels kind of like being robbed.

Ive been thinking alot about what i want to do when i get home and im almost certain i will end up studying. If i was guaranteed work i am 100% certain i would study vet nursing but it is anything but guaranteed. I am seriously thinking about teaching, it is
something ive considered before but pushed aside as im really shy etc and didnt know how it would work out.. but i think ive matured alot and could do it now.. maybe :P also.. its not something im REALLY passionate about, but social work/councelling is(other than vet nursing) and its deffinately a step in the right direction.. we shall see though.. just been playing on my mind quite alot lately..

also, i dyed my hair red recently.. feels really weird! but i like it.. its FAR from perfect but im still liking it alot, im deffinantly over having black hair(but i dont mind the dark brown i had recently.. BLACK just feels a bit harsh now)

work is going well.. really busy lately! but thats always a good thing as a temp..atleast theres work available!

0o0o the future huh?! hah

hey everyone!
munich was AWESOME!
1 stein your talkative
2 steins your thinking..ahh maybe i could have a third
3 steins your running through a fountain in the main square and coming out drenched(well to be honest id had more than 3 steins, in germany refered to as a masse, 1 litre of beer each.. we had also had quite a few .5 litre beers as well) but anyway good night out with a few guys we met at the hostel. the only weird thing about munich is all the large beer alls have last call at 10.30 and close at 11.00 and atleast the one we were at it was very hard to find a bar near by that wasnt closing! but great nights anyway!

now we are in berlin, which has been great(in my personal opinion i prefer munich though, although that may be because we are staying further from the centre here) we went on the walking tour today and saw alot of stuff, hitlers bunker(which was basically just a field with a small sign) the berlin wall.. and ALOT of beautiful museums and memorials.

tomorrow we are heading back to amsterdam.. and then back to london which we reallllyy arent looking forward to, only because that means getting work! wahhh, our holiday is almost over!

within about 1 day and a 6 hour train ride(munich to berlin) it has gone from singlet and/or t-shirt weather to layers and jacket weather.. there has been times where its hot and take off your coat etc but.. im so scared that the cold has finally arrived.. we def. came at the right time though.. so many people where like "your leaving now and gonna be freezzyying!" but the last few days have been the first "i need my jacket" days.. the only thing better we could have done i think, is left maybe 2 weeks before we did.. so.. all in all our trip has been near to perfect :D

update with more pics etc soon

guten tag from austria!

italy totally won my heart though!
we got of the train, left the train station and right in front of us there was a canal and we caught the taxiBOAT to the stop closest to our hostel, walked over 3 small bridges and we were there.. we even cross a small bridge straight to the door of the hostel. i never saw a car! and only saw a bus when we walked right to the edge of the little haven we were staying in.. my one regret on our trip is that we only had two nghts in venice. got heaps of great pics though!

vienna so far has been awesome too.. we got here about 5 yesterday afternoon after 9 hours of the most amazing scenery i have ever seen.
found a really cool bar about 30seconds from our hostel door, 3euro for a massive beer. we were sitting outside and this nice old guy started talking to us(which is always good because you learn a shitload about the city from them) and then dissapeared inside only to have his wife come out and "invite us to try the soup there"(her son owned the bar) so we had this delicious vege soup and bread brought for us by this lovely old couple. we have met so many lovely and generous people in our travels we have actually been very spoilt.

so we have 2 more nights here and then off to prague.
its so funny how stingey we were when we left, vegemite and chips on bread for meals ahha now i am lazy and spend too much money, i just hope i can last a few more weeks. some things are surprisingly cheap though, i got a long jacket(preparing for the evil cold) for about 30nzd, i saw a similar one in nz before we left for like 80. and some foods are also very cheap, not to mention beer!

i cant wait to put picstures up, not just for people to see but so i dont have to look at square inch sized photos on the camera screen too!

hope everyons well!

6:30 pm
today we went to dublin zoo.. it wasnt as good as auckland zoo but alright and they had an awesome petting area.. can you believe they have an area with farm dogs(i think they are more like pets though they can roam free in certain areas) and a cat?!(also roaming free) i patted the cat and though of cheech face claw :( also walked through a huge park.. apparently there are deer but we didnt see any
dublin dosnt want us to leave! we got here easy as for only 27 pound each but to escape this place is almost impossible! we almost resorted to spending like 550NZD on flights to amsterdam.. but we have found a cheaper boat and train route(after forever on the phone and about 3 different travel shops!!).. its gonna take us about 23 hours to get to the hook of holland(but we have an over night cabin on the boat) then a few more trains to get to my step aunties(yay free accom. just out of amsterdam!) dublin has been great but im not in love with it like i was with edinburgh..
we also went to the dublin museum today but we had to leave quickly cause time flew by and it was closing time! we are trying to find a good pub(there are millions of awesome pubs here obviously but i mean like a metal or rock bar or something with younger people)as we havnt really had a "night out" yet..
dublin is expensive as hell!! like..more so than a lot of london(we found it easy to find little places with bargains but here its harder..every where seems to be about the same rip off price..even food like noodles arent what id consider cheap..beer is cheap at a liqour store but not in pubs) but ya gotta take the bad with the good dont ya!

i wish people would post some photos :( i wanna see whats goin on back home! and post more about the goings-on

ps. we went to the guinness brewery!! and got a free guinness at the end :D

hope your all doing well

We have been in Edinburgh for almost the last week. It was a 4.5 hour train ride from London and we were totally blown away as soon as we got off the train.. this place is amazingly beautiful. Everywhere you look there is castles/monuments/statues/gardens. no two buildings are the same and nothing looks boring. (they have a huge tower the locals call the "gothic rocket" which is about a 2 min walk from our hostel.. heheh.)
Yesterday we got up at 6.45 and went on a coach tour up to the highlands and lochness(and all the other lochs around the area) it was great, took about 12 hours and was well worth it. i touched the water of lochness, but nessy wouldnt come to play! :P
we have today and tomorrow here and then we are catching the train, then ferry to dublin, it will take almost 11 hours to get there, but i am looking forward to it, i like the train.. you see so many cool things along the way and the ferry should be good too. Everyone here is so friendly and helpful, eager to give directions. London was great too, but there were pretty much NO ENGLISH there... anyone you asked for directions were tourists, heck we got asked for directions twice in our first two days in london.
anyway.. we have barely got out of the hostel today so we better be off.. will post pics when possible, cant put them on this comp.

6:33 pm - can i have it like thatt
*freaks the hell out*
I found out last night that my visa was approved.. BIGGEST weight off my shoulders and chest ever. so relieved and happy! then today as we were leaving for work the courier arrived with it! i had it in my hot little hands finally!!
Flights are booked.. a few days before we wanted but at work today i sat there watching the flights disappear(getting more and more frustrated wanting to walk out and come home to secure the flights we wanted!!) as they all got sold out and by the time i got home to my credit card the only flight close to the date we wanted to fly out on was the 22 OF AUGUST. AHHHHHHH!!!! we fly out on Fri Aug 22 at 12.25 *dies* soo much to do.. one less weekend to sort things out. im gonna go insane.
i cant believe all the hard work/saving, not buying myself anything that isnt relevant to our trip and organizing has paid off!! i didnt know i had it in me :P
we got window seats too!(well we can swap)
my 4 day weeks have been paying off. yesterday i got up early, cleaned, dropped stuff off(stuff i wont use before i leave) at my mums, came home, sorted my "important documents" draw, scrubbed all the windows and window ledges upstairs etc! then got the good news :D
im so scared this will be the biggest move/change in my life so far. but its gonna be amazing and will be the best decision we ever made. i get to travel the UK and Europe with my love :P best feeling ever.

Anyone got any tips on things we should do/organize/take?
ive done things like email copies of my/james passport/visa/birth cert, taken copies, ill make sure i note down all my card/$ details, get a bank reference etc... but im sure there are other little bits and pieces that will make things easier and especially if something was so go wrong.

i dont wanna leave my baby girl!

had a pretty good one though.. even though all weekend I've felt pretty lazy and unmotivated, i had two naps last night then got up at 3.30am to weird people in the kitchen then me and rach spent the next few hours laughing our asses off at this guy who had an obsession with canadians and thought my nickname was "bert" hahaha.
this week should be good, got work for 2 days then ive taken two days off for my birthday, family dinner etc at my parents on weds. Rach and adam gave me an awesome very helpful and generous bday present today :D:D

im getting a keg of monteiths original.. why am i so excited about a keg? :P hehehe.

8:40 pm - datty girl
on saturday me and james got up and drove to my parents house, since they had gone away. It was so nice.. we relaxed the whole time, watched tv, slothed on the couch, james got obsessed with the fresh air, etc etc. it was so good for me. i havnt been very happy in quite a while and i was honestly so happy, such a good time. sucks that its not the same when you get back to civilization.
my job is still kinda up in the air.. ive been told "unofficially" that i have a position there but nothing in writing and nothing specifically from my boss so its still quite nerve wracking.
the last week at work was deffinantly the busiest and most stressful week ive had, but im on top of it now which is a relief.
nothing else much is new, life is coming along and im trying to make changes that benefit me and those closest to me, mainly to do with booze and my actions.
